Our first priority is providing a rock-solid educational experience for each of our students and encouraging the development of skills that will benefit them in their future academic and personal endeavors. It is also why parents and school administrators rave about the program and students return year after year to participate in each unique course. Using art history and age-appropriate children’s literature, students are exposed to a wide range of visual art concepts as guided by the detailed curriculum. By offering a valuable enrichment to a child’s academic development, Wee Little Arts has proven itself to be a recession-proof home-based business that parents prioritize even in a down economy.

Art has the innate ability to inspire, relate, and lift the soul, so much so, that without art education, a child’s ability to relate to the world around them becomes severely limited, as do their chances to live to their full potential. It is the goal of Wee Little Arts to give children the creative voices that are being silenced in schools around the country.

Wee Little Arts was developed based on a need I observed when I taught as a visual arts instructor at a creative arts magnet school. My youngest students still struggled with their fine-motor and critical thinking skills, had little to no exposure to the visual arts world, artists (both master and contemporary), concepts, materials, learning to think “outside the box” and creating through process. It was then that I knew I had to change this by offering preschool aged children a strong, structured, educational and fun visual arts program.

“In a world that is difficult enough, Wee Little Arts not only creates a “fire” in these children for the visual arts, but it creates stronger more prepared individuals, loaded with self-esteem.”

It has been my passion, for the last 16 years, to inspire children through the visual arts. Teaching full-time, as well as developing the concept into a franchise, has provided tremendous growth, while continuing to keep me focused and centered on what’s most important…our budding artists.
Parents, teachers and school directors RAVE about our program. Not only are the students coming to a class that encourages them to think creatively, they are making connections through the process of creating, improving skills such as writing, vocabulary, critical thinking and developing an awareness of other cultures. It is amazing to see the connections being made, all the while students are in class discussing and observing one another’s artwork. Watching the progression of these young children, light-bulbs constantly going off, the excited faces of pure enthusiasm when they see their work displayed proudly on school walls, creates a child of wonder and one that feels confident in their ability to shine. In a world that is difficult enough, Wee Little Arts not only creates a “fire” in these children for the visual arts, but it creates stronger, more prepared individuals, loaded with self-esteem.

Our Program

The Wee Little Arts program is broken into four sessions that build upon each other to develop a full range of training in the visual arts. Students are exposed to a variety of safe, high quality materials, which are utilized in the process of creation to foster their imagination and encourage them to utilize their critical thinking skills. Using art history and age-appropriate children’s literature, students are also exposed to a wide range of visual art concepts. Introduction to descriptive vocabulary, training in the use of various artistic media and exercises to develop imaginative and creative ability are only some of the wonderful things the children experience.
